Week 12 Day 2, 3, and 4

Week 12 Day 2

S- 1 Peter 3:3-4 "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."
O- Inner beauty is of great importance.
A- Again God is reminding me to have a gentle and quiet spirit.
P- Dear God, thank you for reminding me what is important.  Thank you for you Word.  Thank you for this study that has taught me so much.  Please help me to have a gentle and quiet spirit.  Help me to have kind words spoken in a gentle tone.  Thank you in advance for the changes you are making in me.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Philippians 3:13-14 "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

I love Philippians 3:13-14 because when I read those verses I get inspired.

Pressing on toward the goal….

To win a prize…

Forgetting what is behind…

Straining toward what is ahead.

Forgetting what is behind. Why are we called to forget? Because we have been forgiven for our past sins. We have to believe, if we repented and asked forgiveness, Jesus has granted us the forgiveness we were needing. Let go of the guilt!!! If we don’t, we are holding onto baggage that will hurt our “race.” Jesus has forgiven us, have faith in that knowledge and freedom. As Jesus forgives us, so should we forgive ourselves. If we don’t we are only hurting ourselves and not being obedient to Christ.

As you start planning for your fall, this year let go of anything that could hold you back from running your best possible race for Christ.

Get out into the real world and make a difference for Christ.

Week 12 Day 3

S- 2 Corinthians 4:16 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."
1 Timothy 2:9-10 "I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."
O- I love that we see that our outward appearance is wasting, but inwardly we are more beautiful each day as we grow closer to God!
A- Dress modestly.  My outward appearance also reflects my heart.  Is my outward appearance bringing glory to God?  I don't want people to know me only for being beautiful on the outside.  And those have inner beauty are beautiful on the outside, because their inner beauty radiates on the outside.
P- God, I pray that my inner beauty radiates and overflows on the outside.  Thank you for making me more beautiful on the inside everyday.  Please fill me with you.  There is nothing more beautiful to me than seeing your love and beauty in women who are beautiful because you radiate from within them.  I pray that when people see me, they see you.  More of you, less of me.

From the blog HERE...

We live in a world where physical beauty is elevated to the highest levels.  Celebrities and magazines and – let’s be honest – our own discontentment in how God made us - cause us to compare and long for more than we have.  And if we’re not careful, we can easily spend more time stewing over and working towards some physical goal of beauty, rather than investing in the inner beauty that overflows from our hearts because we are daughters of the King.

I don’t know about you, but I want others to see lasting beauty in me.  An inner beauty that doesn’t fade with time or in times of trial.  A beauty that takes the focus off of me and onto my Savior.  A beauty that reveals that a makeover has taken place in my heart, and that it’s here to stay.  A beauty that is not defined by the world or my changing circumstances (or by the numbers on the scales!), but by a God who wonderfully created me in His image, and who is changing me to be more like Him – by His grace – from the inside, out.

Week 12 Day 4

S- Proverbs 15:33 "Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor."
Proverbs 22:4 "Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life."
O- It is wise to fear the Lord.  Do not be proud.
A- Remember that all good things come from God, not from myself.  They are blessings from God.  I have nothing to be proud of in and of myself.  I can only thank God for his blessings.  Do not boast.
P- God, please help me to humble myself.  Crush my pride.  Especially when it comes to my relationship with Luke.  Please help me to be humble and not prideful towards him.  Please forgive me for so often letting my pride get in the way.  Please help me to see when I am doing this, and humble me.  Thank you, Jesus.  In your name I pray, Amen.
