I'm playing catch up. Sorry I have been MIA. I was a zombie yesterday after our fun-filled weekend on tour with Luke. We had so much fun, but this mama was exhausted! I was reading and could not focus enough to make sense of anything, so here I am now. I got to help Lorie out and watch her kids for the day and now I am winding down and filling my mind with God's greatness! I will be doing more catching up tomorrow!
S- Proverbs 31:26 "She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."
Proverbs 10:11 "The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence."
Proverbs 12:18 "The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."
O- She is wise with her words. She teaches others with her words. Words can be helpful or hurtful.
A- I want the words that come out of my mouth to be helpful. I want to conceal what comes out of my mouth. My words should encourage and lift others up. My kids learn from what I say and do. I want to teach them God's word and not to just have it on my heart. I need to be talking to them more about God and his teachings. I often think they won't get it yet, so I don't share with them enough. But they learn so much more than I expect them to already. I need to get in the habit of sharing with them verses and Bible stories and lessons, so that even if they don't completely get it now it will be habit to constantly be coming out of my mouth and filling their minds.
P- God, I pray that you will help me to conceal what comes out of my mouth. That my words will lift others up and fill their cups. I pray that your word would constantly be on my mouth. That I will fill Zac and Lucy's minds with your word. I want them to know you and why we need you so much! I pray that you will slow my mind and heart to hear you in all things. I pray that my words would be full of your love and that others would see you in me. Thank you Jesus! Amen.
From the ebook... "Are you pondering your life experiences long enough to gain wisdom from them?" This one gets me! Some days I feel like I just rush through everything to get done what needs to get done and don't reflect on what God is blessing me with through each experience. God, please help me to slow down!
I have also made it a point to not fill my mind with celebrity gossip in the past little while. It really makes a difference in my daily life when I don't fill my mind with that information. When I am reading God's word or uplifting/encouraging/ways to serve or help others messages, it is what comes out of my mouth and I am able to fill others with that info rather than what is the latest in the media.
Are you walking with God daily? Are you pondering your life experiences long enough
to gain wisdom from them? Do you have a wise mentor, mother or grandmother? Do
you have wise friends? Are your reading materials filled with rich wisdom?
OR are you too busy to read your Bible? Too busy to reflect on your daily happenings to
pull wisdom from them? Have you chosen poor friendships? Do you choose to fill your
mind with the world’s wisdom through television, magazines and websites filled with
celebrity gossip?
Now think of those in your family who are affected most by the words you say. Have
you considered that they too are weary pilgrims in a dry desert who need a fountain of
life pouring forth wisdom and kindness to survive.
Thank you for praying for us over the weekend. Luke won the Pro-Am on Friday which was a little bonus, but didn't play as well in the tournament. It was especially tough for him to not bring home a check. He's probably only missed the money twice in 3 years. It hurts the bank account, but we trust that God will provide and has better plans for us than what we could imagine. He is good all the time! For me it was worth the family time we got to spend together! We loved every second of it. Even the gajillion potty breaks for Zac. Seriously, I couldn't even tell you how many times he told us he needed to "boof"!
