Lead By Example

This Monday's Question is...

What are some ways you lead by example to your kids?

By praying together throughout our day.  If we are excited or especially happy about something I'll stop and give Jesus praise.  Zac and Lucy are so young right now that they just think it's fun to say Praise Jesus.  Or maybe it's that they think I'm silly when I get excited and say Praise Jesus!  When we are having a rough time, I try to stop and say a prayer for God to please help us get through this.  And explain to them that He wants to help us if we just ask.  Luke is especially good at praying over meals with us.  I need to be better at breakfast and lunch!  We read their kids Bible every night and pray with them before bed.  They also love when we ask them "What did Jesus do?" and our answer is "He died on the cross for our sins!"  Again they probably think it's just fun and silly for now, but we know that it is teaching them.  After we read to them, Luke always points the story back to Jesus and shows them why we need Him.  By having good manners and being kind to others.  Teaching them to do the same.  And with discipline.  Correcting them when they disobey.  It's another great way to point them to Jesus.
