We've made it half way through our Proverbs 31 Study! I've enjoyed this group so much, although it has proven to be a challenge as far as pointing out areas I need to work on! I am so thankful for each of you being examples that I can look up to! I look forward to the last half of this group and know that the blessings will continue to flow. Thanks for being a part of this with me!
The question of the week is:
What areas have you grown in and what have you struggled with during this study?
I have grown by learning and studying the type of woman God wants me to be. I want to be who God wants me to be, and this study has pointed out just what that is.
This study has pointed out areas that I need to work on and it has been uncomfortable at times, but so good at the same time. I am so thankful that God shows me what I need to work on at just the right time.
I also majorly struggle with pride! Especially being defensive towards Luke. Ugh. It's a big problem that I've got a long ways to go!
I have improved in wanting to serve my family and do more for them. Not only because it pleases them, but because I see more that it pleases God. I am working with more eager hands. I know I can do more and I have taken mini steps throughout the study. I have improved in each area throughout the study and then slacked again after the excitement. I pray that God will help me to be consistent in my improvement. That I will bless my family by doing all the things God has shown us so far in Proverbs 31 and will continue to do so.
An area that I've grown is (by Jamison's great example) that I have been doing my SOAP journal before reading any other posts first. It has been so great for me to read and journal on my own before getting an outside influence on my reading. I encourage you all to do the same! It is so fun for me to read everyone's SOAP after posting my own and get their take on it. There have been some days that I struggle understanding the reading and then after I post mine and read the rest of the journals I get so much more from the group than just studying on my own. I'm so thankful for this group!
In most of my previous Bible studies, I have been more of an observer. I told myself that everyone else was further on their walk than me and I would just learn from them. This study has made me do more, study more, lean on Jesus more, and want more! God is so good and has blessed me beyond belief through this study!
The biggest single area that I have struggled with in this study is rising early. I am so not there. I pray that God would help me in this area. I can tell myself I need my sleep or I have young kids or make any other excuse. It's not an area I particularly want to improve on. God lead me and I will follow!
