Week 10 Day 2, 3, and 4

Week 10 Day 2

S- Proverbs 9:1-2 "Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars. She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table"
Proverbs 6:6-11 "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.  How long will you lie there, you sluggard?  When will you get up from your sleep?  A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest — and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man."
O- Be wise, prepared, and productive.
A- Be aware of what needs to be done and do it.  Do not be lazy.
P- Dear God, please help me to keep my eyes wide open to the needs of my family and my home.  Help me to make my home a happy place that is organized and put together.  Help me to be prepared for all seasons of life.  Thank you for teaching me to be better for you.  I love you!  Amen!

Week 10 Day 3

S- Proverbs 24:3-4 "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."
O- Be wise in the instruction of the Lord.  Through this knowledge I will be blessed.
A- Read, study, and listen to the word of God.  My family and home will be blessed by our lives being full of His goodness.
P- God, please help me to slow down when I am reading, so that I can understand more fully what you are teaching me through your word.  Thank you so much for the women in this group that teach me so much through you.  Thank you for blessing me when I so do not deserve it.  Thank you for your grace.

From the blog HERE... This was a good blog about finding balance as a mama.  I liked it.  :)

But, be encouraged, that while humanly speaking we’ll never be able to do it all (oh, please free yourself from that crazy thought if you haven’t already!), God can give much strength and guidance as we seek His wisdom for attaining balance in our lives.  Sometimes I just wish this stubborn girl wouldn’t wait so long to ask…

Week 10 Day 4

S- Proverbs 12:24 "Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor."
Proverbs 19:15 "Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless go hungry."
Proverbs 20:4 "Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing."
O- Laziness makes the work harder.
A- If I am lazy and procrastinate a project, it will be harder to accomplish.  It will also be harder to appreciate that the work came from God and harder to do the work for His glory.  I need to be eager and get things done rather than procrastinate and dread the project.
P- Dear God, thank you so much for giving me a home and projects and work to do in it!  You are so good!  I pray that I will be eager to work for you.  That I will not procrastinate to the point that I am dreading the work.  Please help me to keep my eyes on you and thank you for the gifts you give me.  Thank you for choosing me!  Thank you that I know you and you love for me!  All good things are from you!  In Jesus' name, Amen!

From the blog HERE...  Another great post!

1. Your mundane work is from God

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Have you ever read this verse and wondered what those “good works” are? Perhaps you think of Bible reading, evangelism, or serving in the nursery at church. Those apply. But so does all of your work, when done in faith. The job you have, whether it be inside or outside of the home, is part of the good works that God has prepared specifically for you.

2. Your mundane work is for God

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Our work, our sometimes boring responsibilities reflect the glory of God when we do them for him, rather than for ourselves or anyone else.

3. Your mundane work demands a better attitude from you

Do everything without complaining or arguing. Philippians 2:14

The problem with my workload is not the work, but my heart.  Rather than complaining about doing unpleasant tasks, we should cultivate humility and gratitude by coming to grips with this gospel truth: we deserve nothing, and what God has given us is good, and we can find him in it all.

Begin by thanking Him for some little thing, and then go on, day by day, adding to your subjects of praise; thus you will find their numbers grow wonderfully; and, in the same proportion, will your subjects of murmuring and complaining diminish, until you see in everything some cause for thanksgiving.  Priscilla Maurice
