S- Proverbs 31:28 "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:"
O- When her children are grown they will see that their mother has loved God and worked hard for them and will call her blessed. As will her husband. This is her reward for working hard for God.
A- By working hard for God, it will pay off with praise from my husband and children. Work hard even when it seems mundane and unnoticed.
P- Dear God, thank you for the praise that Luke gives me. Thank you that I have seen my reward especially throughout this study by Luke showing me and telling me how thankful he is for my work. Thank you that I am learning to be better for you now so that I can teach my children by example. I pray that they will be hard workers for you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
It is so true that as we get older, and especially now that I have my own kids, we grow more thankful and appreciative of our moms. Thank you, Mom for all your hard work and sacrifice for me. Thank you for sharing your faith with me and my sisters when you became a Christian. Thanks for inviting me to church. I remember thinking it was weird and so different than what I was used to, but it was a big step in my walk with Jesus! I am so thankful for you! I love you, Mama!
From the ebook...
Arising and blessing their mother is not just about the “thank you” but about them
arising and living honorable, noble, God-fearing lives. This fruit is evidence of a
mother’s hard work. This is a mother’s true reward!
A huge challenge lies before us today as we consider our parenting skills. Have we
blown it? Apologize. Have we failed to pray? Start today. Have we been too wrapped
up in our own lives to spend meaningful time with the kids? Turn off the TV and
computer and give your children the best of you.

Proverbs is a book of principles NOT promises. The principle stands that a woman who strives to be noble – will have a husband who at the end of her days praises her. But this is not a promise…and for some – their husband’s will never be the Proverbs 31 husband – and it is HIM who is falling short of what God has called him to be in Proverbs 31 and in Ephesians 5.
This week’s challenge: Go to your husband and children and ask them…what is it that I do or say that makes you feel loved? Find out what is most important to them…is it a backrub, a homemade meal, tossing a football in the back yard, gifts, words of affirmation, or something else? Write it down somewhere so you never forget what makes each individual in your family most feel loved and be sure to do whatever that thing is as often as you can this week.
