Week 6 Day 2, 3, and 4

Week 6 Day 2

S- Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,"
Ephesians 6:7 "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people,"
O- Work wholeheartedly!  All for God!
A- In all tasks I do, I need to seek God as I do them and do it all for His glory.
P- God, I hear you.  Thank you for being you.  Thank you for helping me with even the most mundane tasks.  Thank you for making me want to do more for you.  Thank you that I am able to work.  Thank you for always being present even when you aren't on the front of my mind.  Help me seek you more always.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

Week 6 Day 3

S- Proverbs 31:20 "She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."
Deuteronomy 15:7-8 "If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward them. Rather, be openhanded and freely lend them whatever they need."
Proverbs 11:25 "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."
O- Helping the poor is refreshing not only to those who need help, but also to those who give help.
A- I need to keep my eyes and heart open to those who need help.  It's easy to rush through the day and even make detours to get around putting yourself into a situation where someone else might need help.  I know it's a blessing to me to help others and don't want to miss out on that even if it makes me late or seems like an inconvenience at the time.  I also know that it's hard to ask for help.  I was recently saying to someone how much of a blessing it is to help and by not letting others help you that you are cutting them short.
P- Dear God, I pray for chances to help others.  I pray that we all would ask for help when we need it and know that it will bless and refresh those helping us.  Thank you for opportunities to help the poor and needy.  Thank you for the abundant blessings you have given me.  Please help me to not miss the opportunities you place in front of me to help others.  I love you!

In light of helping others.  There is someone in our group that could use our help.

Lorie Davis has been sharing that she has started the process of adopting.  And I couldn't be happier that her family has fallen in love with Artem that I had been posting about because I fell in love with him too!  It has been amazing to see God's hand in all of this!  It is a total God thing the way it has all come together!  Here are a few ways we can help bring him home...

This weekend there is a parade that goes right past her home.  She'll be having a bake sale in her yard on Saturday.  If you'd like to donate any baked goods, she can pick them up on Friday at The Rock Church or if she needs to pick them up from you she is willing to make the rounds.

She's taking yard sale donations, items or services donated for an auction at a benefit later this summer, you can purchase raffle tickets for $10 to win a TV, she's offering house cleaning, babysitting, and making cakes for a donation of your choice, or you can donate directly to Artem on Reece's Rainbow HERE

Pray that God would show you how you can help her bring Artem home!

Week 6 Day 4

S- 1 Thessalonians 4:11 "and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,"
Proverbs 19:17 "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done."
O- Work hard with your hands but not to show off.  Don't get into others business.  Work to please the Lord.  Helping the poor pleases God.  When I serve the needy, I serve Jesus and will be blessed for it.
A-  I love God's promises!  He will reward me!  Even when I think I have little or am tight for money or don't have enough food (or food that sounds satisfying at the moment), there are people with so much less!  And I have PLENTY!  More than enough!  I could give more away.  I don't want to do things for others to make myself look good, I want to do these things to please God and not seek attention to myself.  I also need to not worry about what others do with their time and money.  I don't feel like I do this often, but it was a good reminder.
P- Thank you Lord for your promises!  Specifically today your promise of reward for being kind to the poor, because that is where you are.  Your promises fill me with hope.  Please help me to serve quietly.  I pray that you will show me more opportunities to serve the least.  Thank you for softening my heart.  I love you!
