I don't know about you, but I get so excited to see kids on fire for Jesus. I love hearing the youth band at church and seeing their excitement and hearing them pray and share stories. To hear Zac ask to pray or read our Bibles and when he and Lucy say "Jesus died on the cross for our sins" makes my heart so, so happy!
Let's share some ideas of how we can show God's love to the next generation. Whether it be our own kids or others who may or not know Jesus.
Consistently reading our Bible's in the morning and evening.
I read to the kids at breakfast. We first read their Children's Bible. I have been explaining the story to them more after we read it and asking them questions about the story. Sometimes we make a short video of what we learned and send it to Luke. Zac loves doing this and watching himself. Yesterday we sent him one of Zac saying, "Do not worry." Another one I asked Zac, "What did Jesus say to the disciples?" His response was "Boat." I said "Yes, they were in the boat, but what did Jesus say to the disciples?" Zac replied, "Come here. Cross the street." Ha! Then he said, "Come. Follow me." I love catching these silly things! Then Zac always asks to read Mom's Bible and "the bird book", which is my Daily Devotional "Jesus Calling". It has a bird on the front of it.
At bedtime, Luke reads a story from, "The Jesus Storybook Bible". Zac loves all of his Bible's and says thanks for them all in his prayers. Love it!
Praying with them.
I need to be better at pointing things in our daily lives to Jesus. Being thankful out loud so that they hear it.
Being kind and serving others so that they learn by example.
Praying for them. My daily prayer is that God will help me to teach them about Him, so they will know and love Him, and He will SAVE THEM!
Encouraging other Mama's as we go through this wonderful journey of motherhood with our kids! And learning from them!
