S- Colossians 1:23 "If you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant."
O- "That has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven." Wow. The gospel that Paul shares, the gospel of the Bible, is the same for every creature under heaven. It does not change.
A- I need to stand firm in my faith! And share the gospel, as Paul did, to anyone and everyone around me. It is the true word of God.
P- Dear God, thank you for my Bible. Thank you that I am free to read it anytime and anywhere I want. Thank you that your word is true and unchanging. I pray that my faith does not waiver. Please help me to share your truth with those in my path. Prepare their hearts for what you want them to hear. Thank you! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
From another lady in the group. I loved her A & P. I bolded my favorite part.
Day 10: Colossians 1:23
S: But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.
O: Paul is encouraging believers to stand firm in the truth. Do not be discouraged or lose heart. Cling to God’s promises and His faithfulness!
A: So many things can tempt us to drift away from the zeal we had when we first were saved. We need to cling to Jesus! And we need to recognize and resist the devil’s attempts to discourage us or disillusion us. The great deceiver cannot relinquish our salvation, but he will try to steal our joy and cause us to be distracted from our devotion to Christ.
P: Lord, open my eyes to the devil’s schemes. Holy Spirit, make your voice clear to me in those moments when I might otherwise allow myself to be discouraged or deceived. Thank you, Lord, that Your word is truth and You have given it to us so that we may have life, and life abundant! John 10:10, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” Oh that we would cling to you, Jesus, and see the fruit of the rich and satisfying life You desire to give us!!
