Week 4 Question

First, thank you for praying for me. I am not feeling so much like I am stuck in a rut or like I have a serious case of the doldrums.  I am slowly getting back to normal. Praise God!

How do you keep focused on God when life gets hard?
Being a Mom is hard work.  Training up our kiddos and leading them sometimes gets the best of us.  It can be overwhelming.

Let's encourage one other Mom this week.  Let her know she's doing a great job and that you are praying for her.

First of all, God is so cool!  I asked this question, because it is something that I have been struggling with and want/need suggestions and encouragement from your ideas.

*So, I get on the Pinster today.  I really, hardly get on there unless I need to look something up.  Today's search "Zipper Repair" to fix one of Luke's jackets.  Right on top of the home page was this "How to be Happy When Life is Difficult" Pinned by Must-Follow Christian Women.  http://rachelwojo.com/how-to-be-happy-when-life-is-difficult/  So God.

*I don't know about you, but I am put in my place and reminded of my blessings to hear other people's situations.  I have it so easy!  And yet I still complain!  Last week 2 of my friends miscarried.  :(  Our hearts were broken for them.  One of these friends found out the same week that her Grandma is soon going to pass away.

*Today a friend of mine texted me to get something off her chest.  I found myself getting frustrated about the situation.  God stopped me and redirected my thoughts to myself.  It is so easy to get frustrated by someone else's sin!  How it seems so clear and obvious that they are doing something wrong.  And how easy it is to point fingers.  BUT today God showed me my own sin.  He reminded me that we ALL sin!  I am no better than anyone else!  He used my friend's struggle to point me to Him.  To show me how much I need Jesus!  We ALL need Jesus!  And what a blessing it was that I was able to share what God taught me through her coming to me.

*I also need to make more time for reading.  I started "One Thousand Gifts" and have read here and there.  It is so encouraging, but I haven't finished it!  I need to start a gratitude list to add to and count my blessings daily!

I don't think I even answered the question.  Maybe by asking others and leaning on friends in Christ, God lifts me up and leads me to answers in His own way.  And by asking for prayer!  I love how God leads me to just the right verses at just the right time.  Or shares an example at just the right time.  So cool!

** I have a couple other cool stories to share.  Just waiting for permission to share from the original poster.

Permission granted. Both of these posts blessed me. Ok, all of her posts and pics of her cute kids bless and encourage me! Her kids are close in age to Zac and Lucy and her son has the same glasses as Zac! I love that God blesses us with friends (even online friends) in the same season of life as us, and friends that have been through what we have, and friends that we can be examples to that will go through what we have!

*Another friend shared that her Grandma had passed away.  It was so encouraging to hear how she shared with her 3 year old son through her facebook post.

"Today we lost a real special lady, Dax's grandma, aka Nanny. We have heavy hearts and will miss her, but we are thankful she went peacefully and that we have hope, peace, and joy in Jesus we will see her again someday. Jack knows that Nanny isn't at Mooma's house anymore, but at Jesus' house and that he'll get to see her again, just in a long long time. :)"

*Here is another story about how amazingly awesome our God is!  And how He hears and answers us in ways only He can!

"Okay, so this is probably silly, but here goes... @daxhansen and I are trying to consume less, but when we do consume, we are trying to be very intentional about where our $ goes and are trying to buy things locally made, hand made, or second hand to avoid supporting sweat shops (and bonus it recycles/saves $). Well, I have been dreaming of some white high top chucks (and even said a prayer or two for some - like I said silly - praying for shoes). Anyhow, today there was a 20 min wait at Blue Plate so we wandered over to the consignment shop across the street while we waited to keep the kids busy. We found two used pairs of chucks in the perfect sizes for Dax and me for under $15 total! My size happened to be white high tops! Just kind of fun and encouraging to me."
