Zac Turns 1

These are all pictures taken on his 1st Birthday!  I can’t believe it’s already been a year.  It seems like he was just born and here we are expecting his sister to join us in just about a month!  Time flies!  This has been such a fun year watching our boy grow and learn.  He is such a sweet, happy, cuddly, fun, big boy!

His 1 year stats are:  Height 30” ~ 50%, Weight 24.5 lbs ~ 75%, Head 48.4 cm 90%.  He’s still a big guy, but slowing down a little.  He has 4 teeth, but we can see a few that are going to be coming in any day now.

Zac has always been very mellow and laid back.  He loves to give Mom and Dad lots of hugs and kisses and is such a cuddle bug.  He is happy doing anything we do.  He plays so well by himself.  He’s independent and doesn’t need to be constantly entertained by someone else.  He's totally happy playing with his toys and will come climb on me when he wants a hug or needs something.  SANY0200

Words he says are: Mom, Dad, Zac, Jesus, Hi, Amen, and he signs “More”. He knows a sheep says “Baa” and a snake says “Sssss”.SANY0202

His favorite food is bananas.SANY0204SANY0206

He loved his first try of the Fruit Loops.  I love how he always has his feet up like this on his tray when he’s in his high chair.  SANY0209

Playing peekaboo.  He has started playing peekaboo with us now.   He’s liked when we play with him for awhile now, but just recently started hiding and playing with us.  He thinks it’s so fun now.SANY0210SANY0213-1SANY0214-1SANY0215-1

He loves pushing this little walker toy around and has gotten really good at maneuvering it around things.  He loves when we chase him as he’s pushing it.SANY0218-1SANY0220-1SANY0221SANY0222-1SANY0223-1SANY0225

His favorite toys are balls! Dad is excited he’s already a little athlete. He is so good at figuring out how all of his toys work. He has favorite songs on some of his toys and knows exactly what to push to get to the songs he likes, then he’ll make sure we watched him figure it out and is so proud of himself. He still loves his bat and now he’s starting to hit the balls around with it.  He also loves to read his books.  He’s always loved them.  We love to watch him flip through them and “read” and he loves to kiss the pictures.  His favorite when we read to him is flipping the pages, usually way to fast for us to finish reading the page.  SANY0226SANY0228SANY0229

He loves to be outside!  We go on a walk almost everyday just around the parking lot or to the mail while we watch for Dad to get home.   He doesn’t care if it’s way hot or cold as long as he’s outside.  He has always been great in the car.  Especially in my car.   We’ve taken him places in Grandma’s cars and he isn’t as happy in them.  I think he especially loves the mirror in my car that he can watch himself in and find me in my mirror.  He gets so excited when he sees me and gives me big cheesers.SANY0231SANY0232

Showing me he’s “1” now!SANY0237

He is an animal lover. Especially puppies. His Dad is not an animal lover and is not too excited about his love for animals. He gets so excited and says “hi” to any animal he sees, real or on TV or even just a stuffed animal. SANY0240-1

He loves music. Always has. He is a silly dancer. He loves when the commercials come on because they all have music. He stops playing to dance. Whether he’s standing or sitting, he will start bouncing away and waving his hands around. His favorite song is “Praise God” by Steele Croswhite from church. He knows it’s his song from the very first note and starts singing “Praise God” and raises his hands. It’s the only song he sings to. It’s so cute.  He also loves when Mom sings “I’m a Little Teapot” and when Dad sings the starting song from “VeggieTales”, which is also his favorite show.  His favorite song with Dad used to be Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”.SANY0241SANY0242SANY0245SANY0246SANY0247SANY0248

We stopped the bottle completely on his birthday.  He’s a big boy with a sippy cup now!  We had just been doing one bottle in the morning for the past couple of weeks or so and the transition was easy.  He only likes one kind of sippy cup, the Munchkin brand.  He can’t seem to figure out the others yet.  And still hasn’t mastered the straw.  SANY0252

He loves his bedtime routine. We’ve read his Jesus Storybook Bible to him almost every night since he was born. He gets excited when Dad tells him about “JESUS!” and now he says Jesus with us. He says a prayer with Dad. Then gives us kisses and tells Dad good night. Then Mom and Zac say a prayer and he always cuddles up on my shoulder until it’s time to say “Amen”. He beats me to it now that he knows it’s coming. Amen is his favorite word lately. He says it all day repeatedly. Then I tell him that Mom, Dad, and Lucy love him. And that Jesus loves him most of all! Then he gets in his crib and gives my big belly hugs, kisses, and pats her and talks to her before I say goodnight and sneak one last kiss.

Zac, we love you so much!  God has blessed us so much with you and we look forward to all the days we get to spend with you and watch you grow and learn and entertain us!  You are so smart and silly!  We are so lucky that you are our boy!  Your little sister is so lucky to have you as her big brother and us to have you as our son!  Love, Mom and Dad
