30 Weeks

I’m late on my pregnancy update.  I was doing so good to take a belly profile picture every time I had a doctor appointment.  This one is 3 weeks late at 30 weeks.At my last appointment, I had to do my glucose test and failed.  The next week I had to do the 3 hour glucose test and failed that too.  Gestational diabetes… again.  With Zac I was borderline and my doctor decided to treat me as I had it with diet control.  This time my fasting and one hour results were fine, but the 2 and 3 hour results were a little high.  Not super high, but more than just borderline.  I saw the diabetic dietician and got a refresher of what my diet needs to be and have since been poking my finger 4 times a day.  My numbers have been great with the diet control.  I hate poking my finger.  I flinch every time and have to pump myself up for it.  I’m a super wimp.  It’s weird, because I’m not afraid of getting shots or my blood drawn by someone else.

Before this appointment, I had only gained 5 lbs.  Then at this weigh in I was up 4 more.  The doctor was happy I finally gained some more.  I had lost a couple at a previous appointment and stayed even for awhile.  Zac just keeps me running around and lifting him up and down has kept me in shape this time.  My belly is definitely growing, which means baby is too.  I swear my belly was this big when Zac was born and still have 10 weeks to grow! 

My Braxton Hicks this time are not comfortable.  I had them constantly with Zac and they never hurt.  This time they make me nauseous and do not feel good.  They don’t hurt bad, but are not comfortable at all.  Last night she was kicking me so hard during the night I was in tears and she was in the most uncomfortable position.  I think she has already outgrown my belly!

We still haven’t agreed on a name.  It will either be Lucy Ann or Allie Maurine.  Ann is my middle name.  Allie is Luke’s Great Grandma and Maurine is my Great Grandma.  I’m so ready for her to have a name already!

Zac loves my big belly.  It is pretty level with the top of his crib and he loves to give her big hugs and kisses before his naps/bed.  He also gives my belly love pats and talks and talks and talks to her.  I love it!  He also loves sticking his finger in my belly button.  He’s such a sweet boy.  He has also been getting excited when he sees little babies.  He says “Hiiii!” and likes to get a close look.  We are working on being gentle.  Hopefully we get that down before she gets here!

I have my last monthly appointment on the 19th and then go in every 2 weeks!  We’re getting close!  I can’t wait!  Can’t wait to meet her, can’t wait to sleep on my belly and my back comfortably, can’t wait to be able to bend over, can’t wait for Daddy to be able to take a turn carrying her, can’t wait to see Zac with her, can’t wait for all the hugs and kisses and cuddling!
