Week 3
Letter “Hh”
Memory Verse “Happy are the people whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 144:15
Sight Words “a” and “see”
Chunk Words “ed”
Reading & Arts – “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See” by Bill Martin Jr./Eric Carle and Brown Bear Preschool Pack
Bible Lesson – God’s Creation
Science and Social Studies – Complete Tasks/Participate (I don’t remember if I even focused on or did anything with this, but I had it written down. I have made sure that they know they need to participate and follow the teacher’s instruction at school and church.)
Math – Shapes (Circle, Square, Triangle, Rectangle, Pentagon)
The Brown Bear Preschool Pack was full of fun activities. I really liked this one!
Practicing tracing.
For PE we acted like the animals in the book.
They loved this dice and graphing game.
Making their own book. Learning to follow instruction and color the pages the colors it says, rather than choosing their own color.
Making shapes with toothpicks! Zac loved this. He would get so excited when he finished a shape. Lucy loved holding the toothpicks.
Huffing and puffing to blow the house down.
“Look, Mom! I made a “T”!” He did this all on his own!
Of course we had to make his name.
To go along with our Brown Bear, Brown Bear theme today, we learned about God's creation. Zac's favorite is the planet page in his Jesus Storybook Bible. We went on a walk and found all sorts of things God created. Rocks, potato bugs, grass, flowers, and so much more.
2 of my favorite creations! These silly kiddos bless me beyond belief.
Day 2
Writing “H” with pencil on the easel.
Story time. They both insist on sitting on my lap.
Sequencing. Lining up the bears from biggest to smallest, etc.
I had a moment of brilliance. Ha! I wrote our sight words with a dry erase marker on the bears. “I” “see” “a” and we changed the animals. At first Zac was just repeating me. And then, he actually started reading the words by recognition! YES!
We had so much fun with the dice game that we played again. This time with the bigger graph. Black sheep won both times!
I was so excited that they actually colored as they were told. Blue water, green land, yellow moon. And they glued on the sun. Yay, for following direction!
Melissa loaned us this fun number mat. They could play on here for hours! Ha! Walk to number 4, jump to number 5, run to number 15, and so on. So much fun!
Zac matched the number flashcards to the numbers on the mat.
He’s making letters out of everything!
This was definitely a fun filled week. Great activities. And I love that we are including a Bible lesson to tie into our activities.
