Baby #2 is well on it’s way! I am 11 1/2 weeks along, which puts the due date September 18th! Our babies will only be 13 months apart. And yes, it was planned! That’s always the first question people ask us. The day Zac was born, I remember thinking about how awesome the whole experience was, and told Luke “Let’s do it again!” He wasn’t quite ready to have to go through all the craziness again, especially with my crazy blood pressure. I continued to suggest having another quite often. He must have thought I was nuts, but I was very serious. He kept saying “Let’s get you healthy first.” My thoughts were that if I was going to get sick again, let’s just get it over with now. I missed my big moving belly immediately.
On December 20th Luke said that we’ll just trust God to give us a baby all in His perfect timing. No more preventing pregnancy for us. I was totally surprised! And I’m pretty sure it only took one “try” to make this little one. We got a positive pregnancy test on June 6th! It took a little longer for the test to read positive than it did with Zac’s It was still pretty early. Luke told me I was acting a little crazy and should probably take a test. haha I was pretty moody and it was said out of love. I still laugh about it.
Once again, Luke couldn’t wait to tell whoever would listen really, that I was pregnant again. He called his family immediately. I told most of my family that weekend. I was 4 weeks along! I thought for sure that would make this the longest pregnancy ever! I’m so thankful that I have Zac to keep me busy and time has flown by! One more week and I’ll be in my 2nd trimester already!
I did get morning sickness this time, that I never got with Zac. No fun! Luckily, I only threw up once and just felt nauseous everyday until I was about 9 weeks and it has let up since. I am so thankful my sciatic nerve hasn’t been nearly as painful as it was last time! I feel it pinch now and then, but it goes away quickly. I started showing pretty much immediately! I was comparing what I looked like this time at 8 weeks to pictures of last time and looked like I did when I was 16 weeks along with Zac! I was sure I was having at least twins if not 8 babies! Every time I saw the cute new little twin girls at church I would laugh saying that’s going to be us, plus a 1 year old! I was freaking out. I was so thankful to see one little baby on the ultrasound at our first appointment, February 22!
I loved my doctor that delivered Zac and was so bummed when we switched insurance and found out she didn’t accept the new insurance. She referred me to my new doctor and I was so worried I wasn’t going to like her as much. We LOVE her! Dr. Rebecca Ponder at IMC if you need a referral. The hospital is so nice and everything is so close. Last time I had to go to a whole different place to have my blood drawn after my appt. This time the place was right next to her office. It will be so much more convenient! And I was so excited we got a quick ultrasound along with hearing the heartbeat! It was so fun! We took Zac with us to the appointment and he was an angel! Didn’t make a peep. The doctor asked if he was always that good. Pretty much, he is! He’s a champ!
And for your viewing pleasure… this was me at 8 weeks. After swimming my pants were soaked, since I put them on over my swim suit. I borrowed these thermals from my mom and all I had were my boots. It’s hot!
And this was after my appointment at 10 weeks.Luke and I both think this one is a girl, especially since I was more sick this time. The nurses have even said they think chances are that it will be a girl. One of each would be fun, but it would be so fun to have brothers so close in age too! We were also relieved to hear that my chances of high blood pressure again is much less. Chances are highest with your first baby and your first boy. We’ve got that out of the way! We’ll be praying that mama and baby are healthy through the whole pregnancy. We are so excited and can’t wait to meet our newest little one!

again, I'm really hoping the baby comes on the exact due date! :) and again, I'm so excited for you guys!!!!
Ah!!! What a super cute post! Yes, you will have your hands full - but it sounds like you are up for it! :) :) I know what you mean about being bigger with the second pregnancy, I am waaay bigger. But you just have to live it up and besides you look completely darling in your belly pics. I am so glad the nausea let up after only 9 weeks, lucky you. Before we knew what we were having I was betting for a girl as well because I was much sicker with this pregnancy! I can't believe you are going to have two cute little Swilor babies. I think that's terrific. Thanks for the invite to Zac's dedication, that's sweet of you to think of us. Love! Tonee
Oh my goodness, Congratulations!:)
